Race notes
Attendance at the MIVA Hill Climb Championship was down from this year's previous hill climbs. Just eight people tackled the 5.3km final ascent of the year. Winner by just seventeen seconds was Ken Olson with second place newcomer, swimmer Byron Trajan, beating Sean Depol with a final 5 second surge. Lone woman, Lorrie Baildham, was fourth overall and the only youth entrant, Tayden De Pol, did a creditable sub nineteen minute ride.
After the event, the participants congregated at the local Starbucks to trade war stories and to enjoy the snacks and drinks donated by the club.
