Start Locations:
Long and Short Course: Middle Swan Reserve, Middle Swan Road, West Swan.
Novice and Guppies: Barkers Bridge, West Swan Rd, Guildford (North End)

Guppy & Novice Brief/Start......When Starter arrives from Middle Swan

Boat Preparation:
Ensure boat has vertical number or buy at start: $15.00

Paddler Preparation:
This is a long race, make sure fuel and hydration intake is well planned. Put sunblock on

Grids:
Long Course:
Grid 1 - Div 3 & 4, Grid 2 - Div 2, Grid 3 - Div 1, Grid 4 - Team Boats
Short Course:
Grid 5 - Short Course, Grid 6 - Outriggers & SUPs
Roughly 2 minute interval between starts.

Start Details:
Start Line: Between jetty & dead tree on far side of river.
Starting Protocol: 30 secs, then 10 secs warnings, then “Ready GO” Warm up down stream of jetty & then Short Course & Outriggers come up to upstream of jetty to start in a downstream direction.

Course Descriptions:
See map NOTE OUTRIGGERS & SUPs WILL BE DOING SHORT COURSE 13km

Finish:
Finish between the two buoys in front of the jetty. You will be paddling upstream. Do not go through finish line on the way down river

Safety
Go to your right if traffic coming towards you Help any paddlers in distress There are two support boats

Hazards:
Rocks, tree trunks and shallow water either side of centre
Be aware of others on the water – power boats, rowers & the ferry
Watch out for fishermen and fishing lines

Results:
Will announce results for Novice/Guppy/Short as soon as they are all in. We’ll plan to do results for the long course but if it gets too strung out and too many of the early boats have left, we may not.
