Race noter

The evening turnout for tonight' MIVA time trial was 25, the best this year. In the 20km event Janna Gillick beat her previous best by15 seconds and sole male competitor, Cowichan Cycles' robin Dutton by just 4". Aiden Hare was the only male youth rider, 10 year old Ian Gillmore choosing to do 40 km which he completed in a time that much older boys would have been pleased with. Abigail Hare was the sole female youth participant, completing the 20km in a personal best time.
I Usually, the 40 kilometre tt's are not as well attended as the shorter distances but tonight was an exception, the majority of starters opting for the classic ride. Fast man Don Gilmore did a very respectable 57' 9" but he missed his start by 16 seconds so his actual time was under 27 minutes. In the women's category, Anita Gillmore bested Sandy Przada by4 minutes.
Thanks to super volunteer, John Hannon, who pre-rode the course before acting as turn marshal.
Next week, is a 15 km event which should entice out around 30 riders. The club is working on an on line registration system to streamline the process. All those who need to register before the start are asked to do so well in advance as Webscorer is somewhat cumbersome in this respect.
