Well what a night. It was action packed with 23 coming tonight although Barbara had a fishing hook get attached to her arm after a fisherman cast his line. She was helped by Kris and got medical assistance from Veronica. So they didn’t race.
Then as we were doing our first part of our training David had a small shark leap over his kayak and nearly had a face full. Like a true pro he paddled on and didn’t flinch. I probably wouldn’t have believed him but I was following him and saw it all unfold.
We had 6 new paddlers tonight - Laurent, Ray, Erica, Julia, Ash and Rick. Ray and Laurent are not new to racing though. Two other paddlers who were supposed to have been with us were stolen and ended up in the beginners group.
Steph stopped to help David so her times were slower and Marie also stopped to help Julia so Marie’s time will be slower.
One or two paddlers did a PB and others nearly did a PB.
