- 12:00 noon to 5:45 PM - Pre-race packet pick-up at Pacers Running Store of Clarendon, 3100 Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington VA 22201
- Parking is free for 90 minutes under Trader Joe's. Enter at 1100 North Garfield Street, take the elevator up to store level, validate your ticket, exit out the front door, cross Highland Street, and enter Pacers
- Buy something as you walk through Trader Joe's! Buy something at Pacers!

- 6:30 PM - Pre-race dinner at Bronx Pizza, next door to Pacers, also at 3100 Clarendon Boulevard, one door west of Pacers
- $10 by pre-registration, $15 at the door - All you can eat - the pizza is good, but drop the gun, take the calzone
- 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM - Limited packet pick-up by specific arrangement with the race director. Email RACEDIRECTOR@ATT.NET subject line "PACKET PICK-UP 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM ON FRIDAY. MAY 4"

- 6:30 AM - Race-day packet pick-up opens at lower level in front of Fletcher's Boathouse - NO RACE-DAY REGISTRATION
- 6:55 AM - 7:15 AM - Red Top Cab service begins from Crystal City Marriott, 1999 Richmod Highway, Arlington VA, to Abner Cloud House at 4940 Canal Road. Walk down the ramp to the start line and down the stairs to the picnic tables at the lower level
- 7:00 AM - Pre-race refreshments and coffee service at the lower level
- 7:30 AM - Certified Laughter Yoga Leader Patricia Linderman leads laughing warm-up at upper level on C&O Canal Towpath
- 7:45 AM - US Army 1st Sgt Michael Creadon trumpeter plays National Anthem at upper level
- 7:50 AM - Pre-race instructions by race director Jay Jacob Wind at upper level
- 8:00 AM - Marathon starts at upper level - WebScorer starts publishing RFID-collected results
- 8:30 AM - Laughing warm-Up led by Certified Laughter Leader Patricia Linderman at upper level
- 8:45 AM - Introduction of notable composers and their greatest song at upper level
- 9:00 AM - Half Marathon starts at upper level6:57
- 10:00 AM - Post-race refreshments at upper level near finish line and post-race picnic at lower level
- 11:00 AM - Half marathon awards at upper level near finish line - spiffy SHF-logo insulated lunch bags cooler to top 3 M/F plus top 3 M/F in 10-year age groups
- 12:30 PM - Full marathon awards at upper level near finish line - $250, $150, $100 to top 3 M/F, lunch bags to top 3 M/F plus top 3 M/F in 10-year age groups
- 1:15 PM - Aid station at Lock 10 shuts down
- 1:30 PM - Aid station at Lock 7 shuts down
- 1:45 PM - Aid station at Lock 5 shuts down
- 2:00 PM - Finish line begins to shut down but timing system stay up until the last finisher
- 3:00 PM - Everything shuts down, we clean up, pack up, and check out
- 6:00 PM - SHF publishes manually-collected results
- 6:30 PM - Settle down to watch 2023 Kentucky Derby - Post time is 6:57 PM
