WORLD'S FLATTEST RACE COURSE

The Event. Run along peaceful, rural backroads in beautiful Mathews County, Virginia. Enjoy the course as it winds through dirt, gravel and paved roads and past the serenity of one of Virginia's great countrysides. The Marathon relay route will take you to 3 of the county's pristine & rugged beaches.

The Course. You will enjoy this FAST, FLAT course that winds around quiet backroads and through the town of Mathews. Stick around after the race and enjoy the weekly Farmers Market on the town's courthouse green. The Marathon Relay participants will run alongside the full marathon runners - to sign up for the Full or Half Marathon race, there is a separate registration link here: Marathon & Half Marathon Registration Please review our Important Relay Logistics regarding transportation & relay split timing on our event webpage. The backroads along the course are not wide enough for a large shuttle bus and runners on the road, so teams will be responsible for shuttling their team members to the transition points in personal vehicles. Download the route map for suggestions on the optimal transition points (parking and/or pull out spots).

The Cost. The cost for the marathon relay depends on the size of your team: 2-3 member is $135; 4-5 members is $200. Note: there is no race day registration. Pre-registration also allows us to purchase the correct sizes and numbers of race day swag. Eff 9/17 we will begin to make race-related purchases; therefore no refunds are available. Eff 10/4shirts will be ordered & any extras will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis (no size guarantee).
