Welcome Athletes.

 

Mass Start Format Biathlon Race, Course length subject to change based on snow conditions 

 

You pick the length course you want to ski:

12K,  5x2.5K

Or

7.5K,   5x1.5K

Or

5.5K, 5x1.1K  (intended for NOVICE and young athletes)

 

Categories: 

OPEN:  USBA Safety Certified athletes

NOVICE:  General public; Not certified athletes. 

PARA Athletes: IR or VI rifles provided.

 

 

AGE GROUPINGS:

ADULT:    150M Penalty loop,    PPSS

U17:       150M Penalty loop,    PPSS

U15:       75M Penalty loop,    P/p,P/p,P/s,P/s,  P/p=Prone on prone target, P/s=Prone on stand target 

U13:       75M Penalty loop,   P/s,P/s P/s,P/s=Prone on stand target (cuff or blocks depending upon you/coach decision),

 

 

P = Prone shooting, S = Standing shooting

 

Newbie NOVICE race does not require USBA certification. All athletes will be provided instructions and guidance on the range. Rifles and ammo is provided at your shooting lane.  You just show up to run(snowshoe?) or ski with your own ski/run gear and the club guides you thru the event.   NOVICE racers will race their own separate race.

 

 

NOTE: There will be NO same day registration. Payment due at registration race day. This is an OPEN race for USBA "Basic Rifle Safety" safety certified biathletes and youth in a USBA biathlon program. U15 and U13 biathletes will not be carrying a rifle. Competitive U15 biathletes are encouraged to race up in the U17 age group. 

 

$20 Ariens Nordic Center event fee for all participants.  electronic payment. Not cash/check.

 

IMPORTANT: 

Ariens waiver is required once/year.  Parent must accept waiver for minors. 

USBA membership is required for OPEN athletes, unless using a Eco-Aims IR rifle .

10:00-10:45  ZERO 

11:00  OPEN RACE    If enough kids register to warrant their own OPEN race at 12:00, then that may happen.   TBD.

12:00  NOVICE RACE

Expect details a week prior to event.    Thus there is NO harm to sign up early to receive race details and event updates, then pay on-site.

Being aware of the risks and willing to assume them, I waive, release, and hold Blackhawk Ski Club, Wisconsin Biathlon, Bay Nordic Ski Club, Ariens Nordic Center and U.S.B.A., and their affiliate clubs, directors, officers, employees, coaches, sponsors, advertisers, and owners/lessors of used premises from all claims for liability, injury, loss, or damage connected with my participation in this biathlon competition / training. I intend for this waiver and release to also apply to my relatives, personal representatives, heirs, beneficiaries, next of kin, and assigns. Insurance. I currently have, and agree to maintain throughout the time I participate, sufficient medical and accident insurance. I understand that this is my responsibility and release any one else from providing it for me.
