Come & Take It Canoe Race 2025

WELCOME! Come join us at the Annual Come & Take It Canoe Race in Gonzales on Saturday, October 4, 2025. We are grateful for the support from the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority (GBRA), Lake Wood Recreational Area, and the Gonzales Chamber of Commerce. Come join us for this family-friendly event with races beginning at 9:30am and presentation of awards in the afternoon. We will provide food and refreshments at the finish line. Our volunteers will have lunch ready at 12:45pm. Come & Take It! 
 
Entry Fee: $26 per person, children under 16 FREE 
 
Please register online ASAP to reserve your T-shirt size!

• Pre-registration is highly recommended, but we will have on-site registration available at 9:00am.
• You must complete and sign a waiver to participate (included with online registration). 
• Race is approximately 13 miles. Starts at Lake Wood Park, just below H-5 dam, F.M. 2091 S off Alt 90, 5 miles west           of Gonzales.
• 13 miles down the Guadalupe River finishing at SANTA ANNA'S FORD (gravel bar at US 183 bridge over         Guadalupe) Independence Park.
• Mandatory portage on river left around City of Gonzales Dam. Maximum of 6 participants per boat. 
• Course/Race updates will be given at 9:15 AM at pre-race meeting.
