REGISTER HERE for the following events taking place on Sunday, June 8th:
5K RUCK 18+ only -- To Ruck, participants must carry extra weight on their bodies while they run the 5K, usually in the form of rucksacks, backpacks, or body armor. This is in honor and symbolic of our military personnel. If you weigh 150 pounds or more, you must carry an extra 20 pounds while you run; if you weigh 149 pounds or less, you must carry an extra 10 pounds while you run. All Ruck registrants will be weighed prior to the start of the race.)
5K RUN 11 years and older - responsible adult must be onsite for the event
5K WALK 11 years and older - responsible adult must be onsite for the event
COMMUNITY CARE 10K TRAIL RUN 14+ only - responsible adult must be onsite for the event
FAMILY STROLL 1 mile - baby strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, and people with disabilities are welcome - each adult registered may be accompanied by and responsible for up to 2 children. Please register for Family Stroll using the adult's name only so you won't be double charged
KIDS FUN RUN 1/2 mile - 10 and under only - responsbile adult must be present onsite at all times
VIRTUAL 5K - Can't make it on June 8th but still would like to support Upshur County Rec Department? Do your own 5K Run anytime from June 1 - June 8 and email your time to MOUNTAINEER RUNNING COMPANY to be included in the Final Results. You will not be eligible for awards, but you will receive a t-shirt, finisher medal, and other swag by mail! Additional fees have been applied to registration to cover shipping costs.

SWAG All participants will receive a free one day pass to the Upshur County Rec Dept outdoor pool! Everyone who registers BY MAY 26th will receive a t-shirt and finisher medal. 2XL and 3XL shirts are $2 extra. T-shirts and finisher medals are NOT guaranteed for registrants AFTER MAY 26th, but we will do our best to have some available on Race Day on a first come basis. The first 50 registrants will recieve special MOUNTAINEER RUNNING COMPANY swag on Race Day!
MISC The 10K/5K course may include portions of a high school track, a paved lot area, and a well maintained trail with slight to moderate inclines. The Family Stroll and Kids Fun Run will be mostly on the track and/or paved lot area, for ease of use and safety for strollers, wheelchairs, and family groups with children. Water and light snacks will be provided post-race and restrooms are available on-site. There will be a free Raffle of running and related prizes for all participants at the Awards Ceremony - you don't wanna miss it! Concessions, food trucks, various vendors, and other sporting activities will be going on in the area while participants await race results and the Awards Ceremony. Stick around and cheer on the children as they cross the finish line in the Kids Fun Run and Family Stroll immediately prior to the Awards Ceremony! The Upshur Rec Dept outdoor pool will also be open Race Day!
OTHER:This is part of an entire weekend of sporting events, hosted by and for the benefit of Buckhannon Upshur Recreation Department as part of their ongoing fundraiser to upgrade equipment. Other events include a Triathalon, a Strongman Competition, a Tennis Tournament, Pickleball, and a Basketball Tournament.
