Belle Sherman 5K and Fun Run

The Belle Sherman Elementary School PTA is pleased to announce the annual 5K & Fun Run will return this year and be held on May 31, 2025. This community event brings families together to celebrate the school community and neighborhood while promoting fitness and health. This event is also a fundraiser for the PTA and the fifth graders' end-of-year trip. The 5K is a USA Track & Field sanctioned race, while the shorter “Fun Run” is geared towards younger children and less competitive runners.

COURSE

• The non-competitive, non-timed Fun Run circles the playground and remains entirely on school grounds.
• The 5K is mostly flat, an out and back route, beginning at the school, running up Cornell Street, turning on Maple Avenue, and turning again on to the East Ithaca Recreation Trail, with a quarter-mile hill up (and then down!) Honness Lane. See map below. 

RACE FEES

• Early bird registration (through April 30): $5 for kids 11 and under; $15 for everyone 12 and over
• Pre-registration (May 1 to May 30 @ 4:00 pm): $5 for kids 11 and under; $20 for everyone 12 and over
• Day-of-race registration (May 31): $10 for kids 11 and under; $30 for everyone 12 and over.  
• Please note: - Fees are nonrefundable.
• Students who qualify for free/reduced-price lunch can enter either race for free! Promo code: FreeLunch

T-SHIRTS

• Up to 2 T-shirts may be ordered with each registration for $13 per shirt.
• Additional T-shirts may be purchased for $15 on race day (as long as supplies last).
• Race day delivery guaranteed for T-shirts ordered by 4:00 pm on May 16. 

COMPETING AGE GROUPS

• 5K runners will compete separately in the following age groups (split by gender): 6 and under, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12-14, 15-19, and 20 and over.
• Fun Run is for all ages! All Fun! 

RESULTS

• 5K results will be made available on the Webscorer site after the race.

PRIZES

• Gift cards and other prizes will be awarded to the top finisher in each age category in the 5K.
• Enjoy free food, music, and friendship during the after party! Cheer on the Fun Run-ners!

The 5K is USATF sanctioned. As per USATF regulations, please no bikes, strollers, roller blades, pets, music devices, etc.
