Event notes

DSR Productions is happy to announce our annual Not the Worst Weekend race is happening on Saturday May 11th at 9:00 am. Happening in Arlington, specific location to be given to runners on the week before the event.  As in years past this race is no frills, which means no t-shirts, no medals, but there will be prizes and raffles! A big part of DSR is being judgement-free. We affirm the rights of people to identify as the gender of their choice. Gender categories are Male/Female/Non-Binary, all genders are eligible for prizes. We’re not charging a registration fee, but we do ask for donations to help support and operate our group. Thanks from your RD’s, Su (She/her) Katie (She/her) TJ (he/him)

Participant Rules: Davis Square Runners welcomes people from all communities, and our members can be assured that they have an advocate and can find camaraderie within this running group. 1. DSR admins and race participants will not make judgments about, question, or ridicule a person’s sex, gender, race, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, or age, and accepts people as they present themselves. 2. Please respect everyone’s personal space. 3. To ensure the safety of everyone, we don’t allow dogs or strollers in any of our races. 4. On race registration forms, any person may self-categorize into the gender group they identify as, without question or judgement. 5. Anyone engaging in disparaging or ridiculing comments, or aggressive behavior will be removed from the group.  This applies to in-person group activities as well as over virtual/social media forums. Disputes If a dispute should arise about a participant’s indicated sex in relation to racing results, participants must take up that matter privately with the race directors or admins. Because of the sensitive nature of these issues, privacy of the affected parties is of utmost concern.  Therefore if the disputer takes this matter into a public forum, such as on social media or even out loud at a race, they will be immediately disqualified and removed for unsporting-behavior.   Runner finishing Runners can officially finish if they are the last person in the group still running, or make it to the 6 hour cut off point.  Runners can stop running whenever they want, just be sure to let Su know. Their mileages will be tallied and recorded on the official list. Runner disqualification: Any general childish attitudes toward anyone. If you can’t be an adult, please stay at home. Cheating or suspected cheating. Relieving oneself (urinating and defecating) at the start/finish area in a place other than in a toilet.  We are in a neighborhood, and we need to be good neighbors. Anyone engaging in disparaging or ridiculing comments, or aggressive behavior Waiver: I know that running a road/trail race is a potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by acknowledgement of this waiver, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but no limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road; all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or roller blades, animals, and personal music players are not allowed in the race and I will abide by all race rules. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and inconsideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Davis Square Runners LLC, TJ Poole, Katie Weaver, Su Mittra, and all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.
