2024 March Madness Outrigger Canoe Race

Date:

• Saturday, March 23rd & Sunday, March 24th, 2024

Time:

• 7:30am - Team Check-in Opens
• 8:30am - First Heat Steers/Safety Meeting
• 9:00am - First Heat Start
• Follow as per schedule and race grid
• All Steers/Safety Meetings will be 30min prior to your heat. 
• The event may run ahead  Please arrive a min of 1 hour prior to your heat

Location:

• FCRCC Burrard Outrigger Compoud 
• 1628 Whyte Ave, Vancouver, BC

Distances:

• Heats - ~5kms
• Finals - ~2kms

Race Fees:

• Juniors - $75 per team
• Adults - $150 per team
• Please send an etransfer to false.creek.outrigger@gmail.com and use the password "paddle".

Registration Notes: 

Registration is now closed, but if you still want to race, you can!  Please fill in this form and we will add you to the roster.  LATE REGISTRATION FORM.  Please fill in a separate form for each crew.  

• Registration and fees deadline - Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at 5:00pm
• Men's and women's team may combine to form mixed teams
• Mixed teams - Max of 3 men
• Steerspeople are availabe upon request for those who may not have one. Please let us know well in advance.

CORA Membership is required for all participants!!

PLEASE PRINT and SIGN the Team Waiver and submit them to the registration desk on race day:

• JUNIOR Team Waiver Form
• ADULT Team Waiver Form

Equipment:

• Canoes provided
• FCRCC has a limited number of PFDs and paddles available should you require.

Safety:

• All paddlers MUST WEARa PDF. Ideally you will have a Transport Canada approved PFD, but if you have a Vaikobi PFD, you must also have an approved PFD in the canoe. If you are not wearing a PFD, your team will be disqualified. 
• First Aid attendants will be available onsite
• On water safety boats will be stationed on course

Additional Information:

• Washroom facilities available onsite
• Bakesale items available for purchase with proceeds to support WMO
• Ensure all team members are dressed for the weather
