Blackhawk Biathlon Club welcomes racers to Regional race #5. We have a very good snow base and have been skiing since late November. With any luck we will get some natural snow to go along with our man made snow before the race.
Race format may change by race time depending on weather and snow conditions. Race directors will do their best to keep registrants updated about conditions but may not be able to determine length and style of race until race day.
Race format:
Individual Sprint Biathlon Race, 20 sec Interval start.
Classifications:
6.5K - Age 15 - Adult Males, 150 M penalty lap PS
5K - Age 15 - Adult Females, 150 M penalty lap, PS
5K - Age 13 & 14 (U15) Male and Female, 75 M penalty lap PP at prone targets
4K -12 and Under (U13) Male and Female, 75 M penalty lap, PP at standing targets
3K - Youth Novice Male and Female no penalty lope, shoot from blocks on standing targets, PP
P = Prone shooting S = Standing
NOTE: There will be NO same day registration. Payment due at registration on race day.
This is an OPEN race for USBA safety certified biathletes and youth in a USBA biathlon program.
U15 and U13 biathletes will not be carrying a rifle. Competitive U15 biathletes are encouraged to race up in the U19 age group.
$20 for Youth through 21 (minimum age of 10 to participate) $25 Adults over 21.
A daily or annual USBA membership or USBA "Member for a Day" is required to cover race liability insurance. Membership will be checked at registration.
