GROUP B NOTES
Group B will race five stages on intermediate terrain and is intended for Sport and Beginner categories. The race could require 3,500 feet of climbing. See Race Webpage for more information.
During registration, you will select your category by gender and sport, beginner, or eMTB. Once we have a complete registration pool, we will subdivide the categories into age groups (except for eMTB). You will be notified of your resulting category once this is complete.
In an attempt to reach at least 30% female racers between Group A and Group B, we are applying the following approach.
On race day, we are planning to have 120 Group A racers and 50 Group B racers but when registration opens, Group A will be limited to 90 registrations and Group B will be limited to 30 registrations. Everyone is welcome to register prior to reaching these initial registration numbers.
Once we have reached these numbers, people continuing to register will be placed on a waiting list. 5 days after the waitlist began, female registrants on the waitlist will be invited (in order of registration) to fill out the remaining 30 spots for Group A and 20 spots for Group B. Invited racers will have 48 hours to respond. If spots remain after the 48 hour invite period, the remaining spots will be offered to racers on the waitlist, in order of registration, regardless of gender. Each invite will expire after 48 hours.
--Begin Clarrification-- female registrants will be invited from the waitlist to fill the spots necessary reach a goal of 30% participation across both groups, not to fill all the remaining 50 spots. Once 30% has been achieved, if possible, the remaining spots will be offered to those on the waitlist, in order of registration, regardless of gender. Besides the race, the entry fee gets you access to three Friday practice shuttles, a swag bag, and a meal ticket and two drink tickets at the post-race awards party!
No refunds will be permitted after September 1st. Race entry transfers will be permitted until Tuesday September 4th. Group or category transfers will be permitted until Friday September 8th at 6PM. Group or category transfers must be requested by sending an email to info@redwoodcoastmtb.org by the deadline. Packet pickup volunteers will not be responsible for your transfer request.
