Sadie Knob Race - KBay Mountain Classic

This is an extreme wild rugged trail race for "experienced mountain runners only and you must be 18 yrs or older" to participate. This is the 2nd race on SADIE KNOB. You must pay attention to stay on this narrow rugged trail and not wander down a bear trail by mistake and watch your footing. There will be some brush and amazing views. Print & READ the waiver to be sure you are qualified to participate & read the list of REQUIRED gear. Running cut off time is 4 hours. (Normal hiking time is 7+ hours) About 8.5 or 9 miles with 2200' to the summit with 2800' gain. Start at North Eldred Trailhead on the ocean, up Knob Spur trail to summit and then back down Knob Spur trail, left at knob intersection,on South Sadie trail, finish at South Eldred Trailhead on the ocean. NOTE: RACE FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE BOAT TRANSPORT TO AND FROM HOMER, ALASKA. Note: MAKO'S and ALAN'S water taxis are offering discounts to registered racers. This race is only accessible by boat, about 30 min beautiful ride from Homer Harbor. Racers arrange their own drop-off by water taxi from Homer to North Eldred trailhead 11:30am (or earlier if you want quiet time) and pickup by water taxi at South Eldred after 5 or 6pm.
