Description: 14-mile OUT-AND-BACK course with 10,000' vertical gain. Route ascends Lazy Mountain (from Lazy Mountain trailhead), descends backside of Lazy and climbs Matanuska Peak before returning in reverse. There is a strict cutoff time of 80 minutes at the top of Lazy Mountain. Racers must be 15 years or older to participate. All participants are expected to complete the course in under 8 hours. This is a USA Track & Field sanctioned event.

Race Time: There will be three options for starting this year:
1.) The race will start at 9 A.M. This will act as the traditional start.
2.) Any participant may start at 8 A.M. Participants planning to take more than 4:45 to complete the race are encouraged to start at this time.
3.) Every racer has the option to start individually or in groups sometime between 8 A.M. and 9 A.M. provided that a race official oversees the start and records bib number(s) and start time.
We ask that everyone time their race as a backup, in case there are any issues that arise from multiple starts.

Entry: Preregistration and race day registration. To minimize lines, we have added a preregistration option this year. The entry fee is $30 cash; race day payment only. ALL participants must check in on race day to receive their bib number, display mandatory gear, pay entry fee, and confirm their desired start time.

Mandatory gear: Windbreaker top, long underwear top and bottom, hat, gloves, water bottle. There are no aid stations.

Parking: Parking is expected to be an issue. Please make every effort to reduce the amount of vehicles at the Lazy Mountain trailhead. Lazy Mountain Bible Church, located near the race start, has generously made their parking lot available for additional space if needed.
