 2020 Gov Peak Climb is a VIRTUAL RACE

Race date: May 25-June 10th
Race time is on your own
You will need to record your run (race) between May 25th and June 10th on Strava. Take a pic at the top of the mountain, and submit your time and pic via a google form on https://www.strabelracingservices.com/government-peak-climb.html

Race start will be at the Government Peak Rec Community Center (GPRA Chalet)
Entry Fee: $10 (to cover permits, trail clearing, insurance, etc)
Training on the mountain: Of course, although the gate at the bottom of the hill closes at 10pm

Please be aware that there is some trail construction going on and detour signs will be posted.

Directions to the race start:
From Anchorage:
North on the Glenn Hwy (continue onto the Parks Hwy)
Exit at Trunk Rd
North on Trunk Rd (go through a round-about, stoplight, round-about)
Turn left on Palmer Fish-hook Rd
North on Palmer Fish-hook Rd for 4.5miles
Turn left on Edgerton Parks Rd (mile 7.1 Palmer Fish-hook rd)
Travel 1 mile
Turn north on Mountain trails road, drive 1 mile

Parking: Parking at the Government Peak Chalet. This is a Mat-Su Boro Parking area and there is a $5 fee, State Park Passes DO NOT WORK here.

Gate hours: Please be aware that there is a gate to the access road, and it will be open from 8am-10pm.
