The 7th Annual Story County Freedom Run will take place Saturday, June 20! The race will be the official kick off of the RUN Nevada Race Series.

For those who’ve run the event in the past, there will be a few noticeable changes in store due to the current Covid-19 pandemic:

• Location Change: The race will return to its roots, beginning and ending in front of the Pavilion at Score Park.
• Touch-free check in: Packet pick up will take place in a designated area, with packets laid out in alphabetical order. Runners will be able to grab their own packet prior to their run.
• NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION: All race registrations must take place prior to the day of the event.
• Rolling start: To adhere to social distancing guidelines, runners will begin their race staggered over the course of an hour. This will help ensure runner safety along the course.

This plan has been presented to Story County Public Health, and has been given their approval.

All money raised will be donated to local veterans causes.


Schedule of Events:
7:00-7:30: Packet Pick Up begins
7:30-8:30: Rolling Race Start

5K participants will receive a t-shirt and a custom finishers medal. 5K Awards for overall and division winners.

I know that running a race in a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running this event, including, but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather including heat, humidity or cold, traffic and conditions of the road: all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the State of Iowa, the County of Story, the City of Nevada, and all other sponsors or directors of this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings or other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. Children should be accompanied by an adult while running the 5K.
