Welcome to MAKAI Cup 2020 Hosts of the 2020 Paddle Australia Canoe Ocean Racing Championship. This event is also the sole selection race to qualify for the ICF World Championships in Portugal 2020. The race has a two day window allowing for the best opportunity to get the safest conditions. Preference will ALWAYS be given to the Saturday for the safest conditions. By entering you agree to the following: YOU MUST HAVE * Jacket style PFD. HiVis - NO INFLATABLES OF ANY KIND * Non expired Smoke Flare. * Mobile phone in waterproof case with SafeTrx App.https://coastguard.com.au/safetrx/ * Leash attaching you and to your craft AT ALL TIMES. * HiVis hat and shirt * Plenty of water/fluids ***EXPERIENCED OCEAN PADDLERS ONLY- NO FIRST TIMERS.*** This decision has not been taken lightly. This is a big OPEN OCEAN event along a very isolated stretch of coast and your safety on the water is paramount. For any first timers we have the Mini MAKAI 10K race.....see the registration page for that event for further details. TRANSPORT- This year there will be a bus provided to transport paddlers from Ulladulla to the starting location. If you wish to purchase a ticket for the bus it is done as part of the registration process. CRAFT TRANSPORT- Please indicate if you require transport for your craft from Ulladulla to the start line. Due to the large number of paddlers entering this year numbers must be confirmed as limited spots are available. This is also part of the registration process – the costs of providing this transport for your craft is covered by MAKAI Paddlers. Registration will close at 8pm AEDST Tuesday 4th February, 2020. No late entries can be accepted after this cut-off time. Refunds will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the organising committee.
