Borrowing from the fable, this is a race for the slow as well as the fast. Speed alone is not the goal. The victory is in finishing the run. This is a good introduction to trail running (and to local trails), and the falls are a spectacular natural attraction. The untimed, one-mile Fun Run is practically flat; it can be completed by anyone regardless of age. The 10 K+ (10.8 km or 6.7 miles) is a trail run on a small scale. It covers beautiful and varied terrain, the flat Larch Meadow Trail, the easy Bear Trail, and the rolling Lake Trail. There is one long, steep hill that climbs about 450 feet in under a mile, lending another interpretation to the race name: slow up, fast down. . There are three water stops on the course. Delicious refreshments from GreenStar are available at the finish line.

ENTRY FEES:

10K+: Kids 18 and under may pre-register for free. Race day registration for kids is $10.

Adults pay $15 for pre-registration, and FLRC members may deduct $5 for pre-registration only. Race day registration for adults costs $20, with no member discounts.

One Mile Fun Run: Free for everyone
