RULES:
Allowed Supplies:
- Corrugated Cardboard
- Wood Glue
- Liquid Nails
- Duct Tape (allowed on seams and stress points ONLY - cannot wrap entire boat)
- Water based paint
NOT Allowed:
- Cardboard manufactured for shipping (waxed, weather sealed, rolled, pressed, reinforced, etc)
- Fiberglass Resins and Plastic Epoxies
- Metal or Metal Foils
- Plastic
- Foam Core Boards or Styrofoam
- Pasteboard or Chipboard types of Cardboard
- Non-corrugated Cardboard
- Cardboard that has been factory sealed with wax
Other Rules:
- All competitors must sign a participation waiver. Participants under the age of 18 on race day must have parental signature.
- All competitors must wear a personal flotation device (not provided).
- Boats must be made entirely of corrugated cardboard and propelled by human power using paddles, oars, etc. (Canoe and kayak paddles and oars are allowed)
- Boats may not exceed 1" of cardboard thickness.
- Boat inspections and Captains' Meeting are at 11:00 a.m. and the Regatta starts at 12:00 p.m. sharp.
- Boats and team members may not intentionally interfere with any other team or boat. (Failure to comply with this will mean an immediate disqualification.)
- All boats must be staffed with a maximum of 2 team members.
- The judges reserve the right to tear apart and/or inspect any boat.
- Competitors must remain in the boat to complete the event.
- Any competitors visibly intoxicated will not be allowed to race.
- All teams must completely dispose of their boats after the completion of the event in the provided waste container.
