Welcome to the 1st Annual Jailbreak Downwinder!
The race will leave Weirs Beach in Metchosin around 1-1:30pm. Start time is flexible to allow the best possible conditions and take advantage of the "Power Hour" The race finish will be at Clover Point in Victoria and will be followed by a post race reception and award ceremony at Coastline Surf and Sport on Broad Street in Victoria BC

The Jailbreak Downwinder will take place before the CSA SUP Nationals in Sidney BC. We hope to see you at all the races!
Schedule Check in Clover Point 10:30-11:30am
10:30-11:45 load boards. We will work to reduce the number of cars going out to Weirs beach.
11:45 drive to Weirs Beach
12:45 Racer meeting at Weirs Beach - mandatory
1-1:30 Race start
2-4:30 Race finish
5-7 Awards and Reception
7 retrieve shuttle vehicles

The Participant must be an experienced Stand Up Paddleboarders and use a suitable board, paddle, PFD, leash and immersion gear for the conditions on the day of the race. The participant must be adequately skilled for a downwind race in the conditions expected on the course on race day. If high wind forecasts and conditions are >15 knots and you feel conditions exceed your personal abilities the organizer will refund your registration fees (minus small admin fee for credit card and bank fees). There will be no refunds for wind less than 15km or no wind. The race organizer reserves the right to alter the course at their discretion to avoid up wind conditions, for extreme wind conditions or any other safety reason. The race organizer reserves the right to refuse participation for anyone with inadequate gear or any other safety reason. This race is not recommended for paddlers under 18. Contact the race organizer if you are registering a paddler under 18.
