The Willis River 50K returns in Fat Ass form! No prizes, t-shirts, awards or medals. Just a chance to come out and run some cold winter trails in January. Participants will start at the Willis River Trailhead trailhead in Bear Creek Lake State Park. They will run the Willis River Trail north to Game Farm road. They will turn around here and return to the starting point. Runners have the option to stop running when they return to the starting point. This would be a 30-35k run at this point. Runners will then continue on the Willis River trail south until they reach Winston Lake and return.

Race begins at 8am. We will supply water. There will be 3 aid stations on the out and back to Game Farm Road. There will be an additional aid station at the starting point. There will be an aid station at the turnaround point at Winston Lake.

As a Fat Ass, there is no entry fee for the race. Runners must pay to enter the park ($5). Runners are also encouraged to donate $5-10 to cover permits and portajohns. Each runner should also bring an item (FOOD!) to place out at the aid stations. Bring enough to share with multiple runners. Also, be prepared to bring additional snacks for yourself. If you think you're going to want to eat something, bring it!

Come prepared for cold weather, rain and creek crossings.
