Event Schedule

---

Date: Sunday, December 21, 2025

Location: Aravalli Retreat (Opp. Pathways World School), Gangani, Haryana

Assembly Time: 6:30 AM

Race Start Time: 7:00 AM

Race Distances and Fees

---

Choose from four enticing options:

  • Short: Run or hike these trails while making it to breakfast in-time! This (~)10 kilometer route is the perfect for runners and hikers alike. The participation fee for the Short category is INR 1500 (inclusive of taxes).

  • Long: Take on the adrenaline-packed (~)25 kilometer journey, and let the trails reveal their secrets to you. The participation fee for the Long category is INR 2500 (inclusive of taxes).

  • Ultra: For the first time ever, we're pushing the boundaries of self-supported racing by introducing an ultramarathon category. The (~)50-kilometer ultra is for those who have mastered our ethos of sustainability, self-sufficiency and Leave No Trace, and want to test their limits on how long they can endure without any external aid (there will be a refueling station to replenish supplies mid-way). The participation fee for the Ultra category is INR 4500 (inclusive of taxes).

  • Relay: We bring you an Ekiden style, 2-person relay race category, another first-of-its-kind initiative for the Indian trail running scene. If you want the spice of the Ultra without its bite, get a teammate to tackle the team relay and take on the long distance one after the other. The participation fee for the Relay category is INR 2500 per team member (inclusive of taxes).

Important Information for Relay Participants

---

If signing up for the Relay category without a partner, we will randomly assign a partner. If you already have a teammate, pleaser register as individuals. Kindly send an email to info@capitaltrails.in with your team name and partner name.

Here's how the relay will work:

  • First person starts the race as per the race gun time
  • Second person waits for the first one to complete his/her section
  • First runner 'passes the baton' and second runner starts their race
  • Cutoff for the first leg will be 12 PM / 5 hrsand for the team will be 5 PM / 10 hrs
  • The transition time will be counted in the total completion time

Cutoff Times

---

The cutoff times for the two categories are:

  • Short: 3 hours (10:00 AM)

  • Long: 5 hours (12:00 PM)

  • Ultra: 10 hours (5:00 PM)

  • Relay: 10 hours (5:00 PM) // Intermediate cutoff at 5 hours (12:00 PM)

Participation Limits

---

We are limiting registrations to 30 participants per distance category. At the time of signup, there will be a waitlist and all waitlisted entries will get confirmed on a first-in-first-out basis.

Self-Supported Race

---

CapitalTrails CapitalTrails Race Series - SOHNA is a full-on self-supported adventure! You bring your own gear, fuel, hydration, tech - and anything else you think you might need - it's a 100% BYO party.

For the non-Ultra (10 KM and 25 KM) categories, there will be NO on-route support for anything (no aid stations, no water supply, no route markings, no start-line Zumba, no finish-line feasts) and you’ll be responsible for your own success or failure in the race. We'll only be sharing a most accurate GPX file/version of the route and will have our volunteers at select checkpoints along the route.

For the Ultra (50 KM) category, we are offering a drop bag facility around the start / finish, which is also the half-way point. Participants must replenish their supplies before heading back onto the trails. No support / supplies will be provided by the race organizers or volunteers. Drop bag should have all required supplies, such as 2 litres of water, for the next section of the race. Hence, in FKT terms, the ultra marathon will be a fully self-supported effort.

Mandatory Gear Requirements

---

Our gear checklist might (not) seem like a lot, but this is essential loot and will need strict adherence. We will be doing gear-checks and will be checking for the following items. We don't care how you carry them - we just care that you do. And if you don't, then your participation will be cancelled on the spot and you'll be required to volunteer with us for the event!

  • Water/Hydration: Carry the hydration power of a thousand desert camels! Okay, maybe not that much, but enough to quench your thirst throughout the entire race. We recommend at least 2L of water and electrolyte mix (combined) if you’re opting for the Long distance or Relay. For the Short category, you should carry at least 1L. And ensure you have a lot more in your cars/cabs for before and after the race. For the Ultra category, you should have a minimum of 2L of water on you for each fo the (~)25 KM sections.

  • Nutrition and Fuel: The wall is a great album by Pink Floyd, and a not-so-great structure in forests. Moreover, it’s something you don’t want to hit while racing. So stock up on your energy-packed goodies (gels, candy, nuts, whatever gives you that carb rush) to keep those legs moving.

  • Mobile Phone: Not to take selfies (although we love them too), but to use for navigation and scanning those checkpoint QR codes! And while at it, make sure your batteries are fully charged before starting the race.

  • Downloaded .gpx File: There will be no route markings. Participants will use the .gpx files shared for the race along with navigation apps such as Gaia GPS, OsmAnd or similar apps on their mobile phones to navigate. Just make sure you follow the route rather than the runner in front of you.

  • Webscorer App: This is needed for tracking checkpoints and QR codes.

Checkpoint Volunteers and QR Code Scanning

---

CapitalTrails CapitalTrails Race Series - SOHNA will not have any route markings - we don’t want to leave anything other than footprints. Our trusty volunteers will be there to cheer you on and scan your progress. They'll be carrying QR codes which you’ll be required to scan using your phones. Your finish timing will be valid only if all checkpoint QR codes have been scanned in the correct order. QR code tracking will be done via the Webscorer mobile app, which is also where race results and timings will be published.

Final Results

---

Keeping in-line with other races of CapitalTrails Race Series, results for CapitalTrails CapitalTrails Race Series - SOHNA will be normalised for age and gender. The single leaderboard keeps things fair and interesting for all participants. Until race times are normalized and adjusted, the race winner is not known. Push till you cross the finish line because it may just come down to a few seconds!

Trail Running Etiquette

---

Don't forget your trail manners and keep the trail karma in check:

  • Share the Trail Love: Say hello and share a smile with fellow runners, hikers and locals that you may encounter along the way.

  • Leave No Trace: Only footprints in the dirt alllowed. Anyone found littering will be disqualified from the race immediately.

  • No Disturbing Wildlife: These trails are home for many creatures big and small. Please remember that we are the intruders in their space. If one encounters wildlife, please stop and hold your place. Do NOT run! You don't want any wild ceature to be chasing you!

  • Camaraderie before Competition: Be respectful of the other runners. We're all part of one tribe and tribes act united. If anyone is found acting in unsporting manner to other participants, there will be immediate disqualification.

  • Embrace the Adventure: It's a trail race, not a catwalk. Embrace the untamed, the unexpected, and the unapologetically rocky and dusty trails.

Safety Measures

---

Though our trail race is an adventure of epic proportions, we've got your safety in mind. Several members of our team are certified to give first aid in the wilderness and will be carrying an emergency medical kits.
