Race notes

Wave 1 Start 10 am. Wave 2 Start 10:30 am. Wave 3 Start 10:37 am. Cold start at 59-61F. Nice conditions with a light wind in the area of 4-7 mph and occasional gusts of 12 mph.  Thirty year old Nikko Price led the feild with a smooth swim even with a kayak flip about midway into the swim.   He's in the midst of training for Catalina Channel.   Leading the womens' division is fifteen year old Lorelei Schmidt from North Carolina who had an excellent swim and looks to have more gas in the tank.  She also has her eyes set on Catalina in the summer of 2024.
