Great race tonight. Vypers riders jJames and Mark Grant, Brodie Hay and dad Iain gave a textbook display of team riding as they kept the pace high and the pack strung out until the first prime at 11 laps. 15 year old Jessica Reynolds, also a Vypers, hung in with everyone, showing how much she has improved this year. James took the first sprint from Iain and then the team got down to business, opening up a gap on the rest of the riders and by lap 15, four riders had already been lapped, with theu remainder chasing the break and steadily losing time. By prime two at 21 laps, which was won by Brodie from Mark, the break was nearly a minute up, with lapped rider, Patrick Burnham just managing to sit on the back. By now, there were only three other unlapped riders -Mike Sevcov, John Lam and Bill McMillan, with all the rest one or two laps down. or DNF. With Just15 laps to go, the break finally swallowed these three up and then gathered in all the rest, forming a group of eleven. That's the way it stayed through prime three, which Mark took from Brodie, and the final prime - Brodie from Mark. With three laps to go, the Vypers team again gapped the field, which then had their finishing sprint on the following lap. With one lap left, the leaders were still driving hard but, at the line, they all cruised in together, having thoroughly entertained us all.
