HOW TO USE FLIC BUTTON TO START RACE & RECORD TIME STAMPS

Would you prefer to use a physical button to start the race and record time stamps vs. looking down on the screen to make sure your finger tap registered correctly with the app?  If so, you can use the Flic button which uses Bluetooth to communicate with your timing device.

You can order a Flic button at https://flic.io/shop.  A single Flic button is listed for USD $30.

HOW TO ADD FLIC BUTTON TO WEBSCORER PRO

Steps to pair your Flic button with your iOS or Android phone or tablet:

1. There is no need to install the Flic app
2. Just make sure Bluetooth is turned on in Settings
3. The pairing is done entirely within the Webscorer PRO app

Steps to configure Webscorer PRO:

1. Navigate to the “Hardware Setup” panel
2. Select
    - Time trigger & race starter = On
    - Trigger type = Flic button
    - Flic version = Flic 2
3. Navigate to the "Race Start" panel
4. You will get a popup to pair the app with the Flic button
   - This pairing must be done just once
   - The app will remember previously paired Flic buttons
5. Tap OK on the popup and press & hold the Flic button
   - You’ll get a popup indicating when the pairing is complete
   - You can then release the button and it’s ready to start the race & tap time stamps

Flic 2 is the new, larger button with concave top.  The app is also compatible with the original Flic button which was smaller and had a convex top.

You can use the Flic button to start the race / race clock on the “Race Start” panel.  This can be used for all start types.  In a manual wave start, select the wave first by tapping the wave, then you can start the wave using the Flic button.

On the main “Race Timing” panel, you can use the Flic button to record time stamps.  You’ll still need to tap the racer box (or key in the bib number) to associate the time stamp with a racer on the start list.

NOTES

The Flic button can be used with only one device at a time.  The button must be first paired with the device using the Flic app.

If the Flic app is already paired with another device:

1. First, turn off Bluetooth on the other device
2. Next, navigate back to the "Start List" panel and then to the "Race Start" panel again
3. You should now get the pairing popup per above instructions

SUPPORTED PLATFORMS
