Grids/Waves:

Route:

Start:
Ravenswood Bridge

Leg 1:
Paddle downstream, bear right and go round Jeegarnyeejip Island anticlockwise and back to Ravenswood Bridge. Note the bear right turn is marked by a 5knot speed sign on the island, straight ahead and a red channel marker to the left [as you paddle down stream]. Go to the right of the channel marker. There are maps on Facebook “Rather be Paddling”

Leg 2:
Ravenswood to the bridge at Pinjarra. Long course paddlers go into the right most span, turn to the left and back through the span closest to the opposite bank. Relay paddlers paddle into the span to right of centre and new paddler wait in span to left of centre [looking from downstream]. Note there is very limited space on the water at Pinjarra for a pitstop. Due to the Pinjarra Festival there is limited vehicle access to the Henry Street Boat ramp but it is probably the best place to launch a kayak.

Leg 3:
Pinjarra bridge back to Ravenswood

Race Rules:
Wash-riding:
There are no limits on Wash-riding.
Time Limits:
A time limit of 1 hour 50 min will be strictly enforced for the first leg (start to South Yunderup and back to start ). Any craft/team not finished before 1415 hrs will classed as a non finisher.
Relay Change-over:
Ravenswood Bridge:
Running change-over permitted, new paddler can join finishing paddler and paddle up to the change-over point and continue.
Pinjarra Bridge:
Relay paddlers paddle into the span to right of centre and new paddler wait in span to left of centre [looking from downstream].

Safety:

Carry mobile phone on person, not in boat - Remember water & sun-block - PFD good idea - Repair kit could be useful
