What a beautiful day for racing. 30 turned out to tackle 'Gotham Steps' 4 times on each 5k lap. The 5k numbers were swelled by fall-out from the 10k race. In the 10k, Giles Robinson stampeded around in 46:02, with Daniel Brasier 49:46, Si Thomas 50:21 and Matt Shapland 51:21 with his dog Darwin. Matt Fullick was very impressive in 6th with 53:04. Joanna Quirk was first lady in 55:51. Lisa Plummer 58:34 - stormer Lisa and John Lovenberry 1:05:25 were very pleasing on the eye too.
In the 5k Iain Mathieson was first in 26:48, Valerie Laste 2nd in 29:00 (we've spotted you putting in the hours on Ascot racecourse - well done!) and Valerie Williams 3rd in 32:15.
Great Berkshire Triathlon Squad turnout - thanks for turning out. We'll done to everyone who managed the 'Steps' and kept smiling!
To all those who developed niggling injuries/muscle tightenings - hopefully you will be back in the game soon.
We plan to return here again and will keep you all posted with upcoming events.
