Start List Short Course & Guppy 2020 Marathon #7 Upper Swan

Thanks for entering, look forward to seeing you in the morning

Checkin:
Long and Short Course - 7:15 at Middle Swan Reserve, Middle Swan Road, West Swan.
Novice and Guppies – 8:30 at Barkers Bridge, West Swan Rd, Guildford (North End)

Start
Race Start Time: Long & Short 8:30, Guppies: Approx 8.45
Start Line: Between jetty & dead tree on far side of river.
Starting Protocol: 30 secs, then 10 secs warnings, then “Ready GO”

Grids:
Long Course: Grid 1 are all boats 1 series numbers, Grid 2 are 2 series, up to grid 5. Short Course: Grids 6 & 7. Guppies: Zero Numbers
For long course, slower divisions go first. There is roughly a 2 minute interval between starts.

Course Descriptions:
See map

Finish:
Finish between the two buoys in front of the jetty. You will be paddling upstream

Safety
Go to your right if traffic coming towards you
Help any paddlers in distress
There are two support boats

Hazards:
Rocks, tree trunks and shallow water either side of centre
Be aware of others on the water – power boats, rowers & the ferry
Watch out for fishermen and fishing lines
Sun [be protected], Dehydration [pre-hydrate & carry water]

Results:
Will announce results for Novice/Guppy/Short as soon as they are all in. We’ll plan to do results for the long course but if it gets too strung out and too many of the early boats have left, we may not.
