REGATTA RULES


1. You must be 18 years or older by April 29, 2017 (or be at least 16 and in a doubles boat with parent or legal guardian).
2. The Event is a 12 miles paddle on the Powell River (Class 1) starting at Well Being Conference Center in Tazewell,TN & ending at Riverside Rentals in Harrogate,TN.
3. Provide your own boat, paddle(s), safety gear, river shoes, water & snacks.
4. For a singles, leave "Team" field blank.For double Kayak & Canoe boats, enter your paddling partner's name in the "Team Member" field
5. If your singles kayak is longer than 18 feet OR weighs less than 40 lbs enter as "Racing Kayak." SUP's enter in SUP event.
6. If you want to paddle with a friend of a different gender or age category, use the "Recreational" category (no prize money)
7. Entry fees are non-refundable.
8. $150 Cash for 1st Place and $50 for 2nd Place in each race category, except "Recreational"
9. Races begin at 9:00 AM. Races will be started at 20 min intervals based on race categories. Start Times for each category will be announced at least 5 days prior to Race Day.
10. Sign-in at the Start Line at least 30 min before your Start Time. You must be "On Deck" at least 20 min before your Start Time to race.
11. A Coast Guard approved floatation (life jacket) & river shoes (not flip flops) are required to be worn during the race.
12. Be prepared for any river or weather conditions - the Powell River is un-dammed and can have highly variable flows. The Regatta organizers reserve the right to reschedule the Regatta if river or weather (lightning) conditions warrant (in their sole opinion). In such case, entry fees will be refunded upon written request.
13. Participants (and their guests) are responsible for any personal property losses including boats, gear, electronic devices, watches, cameras, etc. for any reason.
14. Dogs, firearms, alcohol, and/or illicit drugs are not allowed..
15. Free transport back to Start Line will end at 4:30 pm on Race Day
