Get ready to paddle loud, proud and spectacularly colourful as Newy Paddlers turns up the sparkle for our inaugural Pride Round! This is your excuse to break out the brightest kit, the boldest outfits and the most fabulous race face you can muster. Dressing up isn’t just encouraged – it’s celebrated!
Join us at Throsby Creek (gateway to the beautiful Newcastle Harbour) for a fun-filled 9km short course race with a twist.
- The course will operate on the perimeter of the creek and will be 5-laps, including a mandatory half-lap where the paddlers will cross the creek and on either the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th lap
- This event is for experienced paddlers to showcase to the local community how much fun our sport is and the diverse opportunities that exist to get on the water.
The vibes will be high, the competition friendly and everyone is welcome.
There’ll be prizes for divisional winners, plus a BONUS prize for the brightest and sparkiest dressed male and female paddlers – sequins, colour and flair highly recommended ✨
As if that wasn’t enough, all paddlers entering the Pride Day Race at a cost of $10, will score FREE ENTRY to the Throsby Seafood Festival at the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club. Paddle hard, then kick back, refuel and soak up the festival atmosphere with family and friends.
