Welcome to the Southern Lakes Half Marathon and 10km Event.

This is always the first Saturday in May - so for 2026 ....... Saturday 2nd May!!

Event start:

21km 9am  
10km 10am  
Event cut off time: 12.30pm  
Prize-giving: 1pm  at the Finish-line
 

 

Schedule:

Friday:

5pm-7pm -Race Number pick-up, Wanaka.  

Limited numbers of bus tickets may be available Friday for purchase.

 

Saturday:

8:15am - Half Marathon buses leaves promptly from the Show-grounds parking area - corner of MacDougall and Brownston Streets.

8-8:30am - Late race pack pick-up for SLHM at the Event Start parking paddock.  If you are in Wanaka please collect from MT Outdoors Three Parks Friday between 5 and 7pm. 

NO EVENT ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN ON THE DAY OF THE RACE .

8:45am - Final briefing for SLHM.  All competitors must attend.

9am - SLHM starts.

9:15am - 10km Run bus leaves promptly from corner of McDougall and Brownston streets  taking competitors to the start line.    

9am-9:30am - Late race pack pick-up for the 10km Run at the Event Starting Point. We recommend registering Friday.

NO ENTRIES FOR THE 10KM ON RACE DAY.

9:45am - Final briefing for the 10km Run.  All competitors must attend.

10am - 10km Run starts.

1pm -  Prizegiving, at Finish-line

While every effort is made to make this event as safe as possible:

I acknowledge that I will be running down the right hand verg of the Cardrona Valley Road which is OPEN to public traffic.

I will take care not to wander out onto the road and run in single file (except for passing).

I acknowledge that I will have my headphones at such a volume that I will be able to hear the instructions from marshals.

I will take responsibility for myself when crossing intersections.

I will wear appropriate clothing for the conditions and take on water and electrolyte as my body required relivant to my conditioning and training.
