2026 Tour de Plain Event # 3 Course Description
The event offers two race options: a short (7 km) or a long (19 km) tour of the Beaver Creek Trail. You can opt for classic or freestyle technique. Both options begin and finish at the Meadow Loop trailhead in Plain.
The 7 km short course starts at the beginning of the Beaver Creek trail at the Meadow Loop trailhead. Scan the short course START QR code and proceed up valley on the Beaver Creek Trail. Remain on the Beaver Creek Trail to the Stonewater Loop intersection, turn left on the Stonewater Loop to the top of the hill. At the top of the hill scan the short course QR code, turnaround there and return on the Beaver Creek Trail to the start/finish. Scan the short course FINISH QR code to complete the event. There will be 3 QR codes scanned on the short course - START, top of Stonewater Loop and FINISH. All QR codes for the short course are on red signs.
The 19 km long course starts at the beginning of the Beaver Creek Trail at the Meadow Loop trailhead. Scan the long course START QR code there. Ski up valley on Beaver Creek Trail, remaining on the Beaver Creek Trail the entire way to the Clear Creek turnaround. Scan the long course QR code there, then turn around and return on the Beaver Creek Trail to the starting point. Scan the Long Course FINISH QR code to complete the event. There will be 3 QR codes scanned on the long course - START, Clear Creek turnaround and FINISH. All QR codes for the long course are on blue signs.
The course will be open from Friday, February 13, 2026 starting at 8 AM through Monday, February 16, 2026 completing the race by dusk. There will be a community start time window on Saturday morning from 9:00 – 10:00, allowing you the opportunity to be on the course with other participants if you choose to. During this time window volunteers will be present to welcome you, answer any questions you have, and cheer you on.
You can ski the course as many times as you’d like. Your times will be recorded and your fastest time counts. Enjoy the skiing!
