Teams

The Teams event is a friendly (and only mildly compeititve) change from our usual individual-focused races

Team Allocation and Start

• All starters to arrive by 5:45 to for a 6am start.
• All starters are allocated into teams of 3 on the day based on handicap
• All teams start at the same time

Course

• Each team must complete (in order) a total of:

• • 500m swim
  • Ride: 3 laps of Tempta bike course
  • Run: 5x ~1km out-and-back to cone near tennis courts

Rules

• Only one member of each team can be on course at any time
• Transition between swimmers can only occur at the northern end of the pool
• All transitions after the swim can only occur in the transition area
• Transitions must incorporate the demonstrated 'handover dance'
• Excepting injury, every participant must complete at least some part of each component (swim/ride/run)
• Subject to the above, teams are free to allocate parts of the course between themselves in any way

• The event will not use automatic timing
• When the final member of a team finishes, they can add their name/team to the sheet at the timing desk. That let's us know your team is finished and how well the the handicap worked!
• All participants receive 30 points towards the season-long Points Competition

This season we're introducing points for marshlling towards the season-long Points competition:

• 30 points per marshaling for first two occassions per season
• 15 points for all subsequent occassions in season
