Registration Closes midnight Fri 26th September. Please note that no entries will be accepted on the day of the race. Full season payment (discount) available at first two registrations of the Marathon season. Free entry for 12yrs & Under
You can also order your end-of-race $8 burger from the Swan Café and number holders [$15] as part of the registration process. Team boat paddlers - please register individually. Free ice creams for 12yrs & Under
Full Course:[Approx 11.5km] START: 350 m upstream from the Ascot Jetty and paddle down to the right side of Ron Courtney Island, under Tonkin Bridge (1.4 km) and Garratt Rd Bridge (3.4 km) past the Maylands boat yards. Turn anti-clockwise round red spit post into Ascot Waters, paddle through under both bridges, then exit right and paddle towards Garratt Rd Bridge (8.5 km) and Tonkin Bridge (10.5 km), leaving 1.2 km to finish at AKC Jetty, via the right side of Ron Courtney Island.
Short Course: [Approx 7km] START: 350 m upstream of Ascot Jetty and paddle down to the right side of Ron Courtney Island. Before reaching the Garret Rd Bridge, turn around red spit post off Bayswater Paddlesports jetty. Paddle back to the finish at AKC jetty, via the right side of Ron Courtney Island.
Guppy Course: START: 350 m upstream of Ascot Jetty and paddle to the right side of the Ron Courtney Island down to the large orange buoy before Tonkin Bridge. Turn anti-clockwise round the buoy and return to AKC jetty via the right side of Ron Courtney Island.
U10: Turn to the left around upstream end of Ron Courtney Island, opposite AKC, turn around downstream end of Ron Courtney Island and return to the finish line at AKC jetty – 3.2 km.
U12 & Novices: Turn to the left around upstream end of Ron Courtney Island, opposite AKC, continue downstream to large orange buoy before Tonkin Bridge. Return upstream to the Finish Line at AKC jetty – 4.4 km.
Hazards: Boat Traffic: Rowers, ferries, pleasure boaters in Ascot Waters: Very low walkway within Ascot Waters.
Paddler Preparation: Make sure your boat has a number holder or bring $15.00 to buy one. Drink plenty of water and put sunblock on.
Race Day Schedule:
Check-in: 7.30 am to 8.00 am.
Briefing: 8.15 am.
Start: 8.30 am [or as soon as possible after briefing].
