NZ's PREMIER GRAVEL RACING SERIES RETURNS FOR 2026 WITH FOUR EPIC ROUNDS IN OTAGO

 

Round 1 – The Crop Duster – Alexandra, Central Otago – Sunday 22nd February 2026
Round 2 – Puketapu Gravel 'n' Tar – Palmerston, East Otago – Sunday 22nd March 2026
Round 3 – The Waipiata Wanderer (New in 2026) – Waipiata, Maniototo, Central Otago – Sunday 19th April 2026
Round 4 – The White Rocks – Enfield, Oamaru, North Otago – Saturday 9th May 2026

 

The EARLY BIRD promotion will run only until 30th November – sign up for the full series and pay for three rounds, get one free!

 

The overall series results will be based on the best three results from the four rounds.

 

The full series cost for the Early Bird promotion (senior riders) is only $199.00, and $99.00 for juniors (18 years and under). All EARLY BIRD entries will also receive 10 chances in the draw to win a new Ridley gravel bike.

 

Age Groups:

  • 18 years and under
  • 19–39 years
  • 40–49 years
  • 50–59 years
  • 60–65 years
  • 66 years +


We will have both the Championship Class (long course) and the Competition Class (shorter distance) available at all four events. You may change classes before events or during the series.

 

In conjunction with Farmstrong, we will again run the Ride Strong Class, focused on our farming community who want either a fun day out riding or a chance to race!

Cycling Otago, in conjunction with our sponsors, is pleased to provide a low-cost series suitable for all ages and abilities – discover the paradise of gravel in Otago.

 

We will have spot prizes and medals at all events for podium age-group finishers in all three classes (male and female). Series medals will also be awarded for podium age-group finishers, plus crowning trophies for the 2026 overall Gravel in Paradise Champions (male, female, and Ride Strong).
