Race to the Castle 2026

We’re very excited to open up Junior Entry (U18) for the 2026 event!
We can’t wait to see the next generation of paddlers take on the challenge.

Key Information

• All junior paddlers must have parent/guardian consent to take part.
• Registration must be completed by a parent/guardian on behalf of the junior paddler.
• Every junior must have a chaperone on the water.
• All junior paddlers must have dedicated land support available throughout the event.
• Chaperone entry is included in the price – both the junior and chaperone will receive a tracker and a medal.
• You register and pay as a team (Junior + Chaperone).
• When registering, please select the category that applies to the junior paddler (e.g. ISUP Race Junior Female).

Distance Options for Juniors

Full Castle – 40km - You will re enter the water at newark lock, paddle to the turn bridge and then back to the castle 

• Start: 7:00am
• Gunthorpe cut-off: 10:45am
• Hazelford cut-off: 12:30pm
• Newark Castle (Finish) cut-off: 4:00pm

Half Castle – 17km

• Start: 7:30am
• Gunthorpe (Finish) cut-off: 11:30am

Mini Castle – 6km - You will re enter the water at newark lock, paddle to first bridge only, turn, and then back to the castle 

• Start (Farndon): 2:00pm
• Newark Castle (Finish) cut-off: 4:00pm

Additional Requirements
As part of registration, we will need the following details:

• Junior paddler
• Parent/guardian consent
• Chaperone (if not the parent/guardian)
• Land crew (if not the parent/guardian)
