Starting in 1955, the Feilding Marathon has been held every year since - including the Covid years. It is now amog the top three conecutively held marathons worldwide.

Out-and-back course

The Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km is an out and back route starting at Timona Park, Feilding. The Marathon AND Half competitors turn at the 10.55km mark on Makino Rd. Marathoners will complete this route twice.

The 10km turns at the 5km mark on Pharazyn Rd.

The 5km and 2.5km Course are off-road on a 2.5km circuit of Timona Park - all grass.

Club run event

All the proceeds from the event go back into supporting local grass-roots club activities of Feilding Moa Harriers, including youth development, upgrade of facilities and new equipment. Most of the volunteers you see on course on the day are from Feilding Moa. The Course

All entrants acknowledge they are aware that there are no road closures and they should take normal care while running or walking on the roads. In particular do not run/walk more than two abreast, and be prepared to move to single file (or even off the roadway) to avoid oncoming vehicles. We have an approved Traffic Management Plan and a Health & Safety Plan. This includes reduced speed limits at several sites and marshals at major intersections. Minor side roads may not be marshalled and participants are advised to take special care when crossing and be prepared to give way as and when required to vehicles. All events, except for the 2.5km and 5km (which are off-road at Timona Park), follow the same route, with Turnarounds for each point clearly signposted and Marshalled. The start is in the fields of Timona Park next to the Feilding United Football Club, then onto the footpath on the right-hand-side of Simon St, along Kimbolton Rd for the first 1.6km. (The first km Mark is painted on the Footpath, so if on the road you will miss it!)

At the first road crossing (Kimbolton Rd, at approximately 1.6km) you must only cross BETWEEN the two Stop/Go marshalls

Once out of town, where no footpath exists, run/walk on the RIGHT side of the road so you can clearly see approaching traffic.

WATER STATIONS

Marathon: 3km, 7.5, 12, 16 21 and in reverse with final drinks at 39km. Half marathon and 10km: 7.5, 14k, 18k (7k for 10k'ers)
