Bridges is a fast paced 5 km race on the Gorge waterway in Victoria. Heats will run throughout the day (starting at 9:00 a.m.) with divisions for novices, men, women, mixed and junior crews. Gender and mixed crews run separately allowing paddlers to race in multiple divisions.
Registration closes Sept. 27th or when we have a full race-grid - whichever comes first! A waitlist will be started.
All racers need to be CORA members. Either an annual or single event CORA membership can be purchased from the CORA web site at https://canadianoutrigger.ca/store/become-a-member/. For single event memberships, ensure you choose the correct event (Bridges-OC6). All team members must also complete the online waiver before race day.
Canoes:Spec canoes for the OC6 race are provided.
PFDs: All paddlers should bring their own Canadian Coast Guard Certified PFD.
Paddles: All paddlers should bring their own paddles.
Race Rules: CORA Distance Race Rules apply. Sterns familiarize with who has right of way during the buoy turn. See pages 13/14.
Race Location: Latitude 48 docks (accessed from a gate at the end of Herald street behind value village). This map shows race site and parking in the area.
Race grid: The race grid will be sent out to the person who registered your team, the week of Sept. 29. Pls be on site at least one hour before your scheduled race time.
Please Note: There is a $10 processing fee for cancelling a registered team to cover the cost of administration.
