Late-Season Series Registration

Format/Rules:

• The format for this series is 5 regular Tuesday Night Crit races
• Series beginning July 29th weekly though August 26th
  Individual racing and scoring
• 30 minutes of racing for Cat C, 40 minutes for Cat A and B
• 1 free mechanical lap if the lap countdown has not begun
• Each participant will drop their lowest scoring race for the final series calculations (can use this to miss a race entirely if needed)
• 5 categories available to register for this series:
• Cat C
• Cat C+ (We decided to make a new category just for this series to normalize the field a bit)
• Women’s
• Cat B
• Cat A
• Note: we reserve the right to assign individuals to the category we believe they will be most competitive in.
• Non-series participants may enter the races but will not be included in the placement of participating racers (i.e. if a non-series racer takes 3rd place in a race, in the standings the next series participating racer will get 3rd place points for the series race calculations)
• Non-series participants are not eligible for the overall series cash awards but are eligible for weekly primes

Scoring:

We will be using our fancy new RFID scoring system to keep track of every rider in every position. Because of this newfangled technology, we will be awarding points as follows:

In addition to the points awarded for each place, we will be normalising the field a bit by adding additional points based on age. Regardless of which category the racer is racing in they will receive additional points per race if they are under 20 and over 40 increasing with age. We have an idea of how many points we will award but will need to ensure that we aren’t over compensating by testing it out this week (7/22) before the series goes live so please check back for final points.

Prizes/Awards:

For this series we will be offering cash prizes for the top 3 places in each of the 5 categories listed above. The prizes will be as follows: 1st place - $100, 2nd place - $75, 3rd place - $50.

Additionally, there will be primes prizes once per category at each race. These prizes are provided by our wonderful sponsors: SideTrack Brewing, Zendo Coffee, 3128 Social House, and Gather Nob Hill.

Entry and Eligibility:

• Entry for the series is a one time $30 fee in addition to the weekly $15 race fee.
• Races will consist of series participants and non-participants. Non-participants are not eligible for overall series cash prizes.
• As stated above, this series consists of 5 races with the lowest score race being dropped for everyone. This means that anyone can register for the series between now and the beginning of the races on August 5th.
• As the organizers we reserve the right to assign racers to the category we believe they will be the most competitive in, in order to maintain the fun competitive nature of this fun local not super serious race series. (yes, cash is cool but so is having fun and it’s more fun when everyone is having fun!)
