NEW event: Fulton Hogan Road Bike Duathlon 2025

Race start 10:00 am

 

Welcome to the first event of the 2025–2026 season! This road bike duathlon features a scenic and fast course with a central transition area opposite Greenslade Park. The run legs will be held on Rough Island trails, and the bike leg is on the sealed road linking Rough and Rabbit Islands.

 

Race Day Timeline

9.00 am Check-in opens

9.45 am Check-in closes and Race briefing starts (ALL competitors MUST attend the race briefing!)

10.00 am Race Start 

 

Post-Race:
All competitors are invited to enjoy a free BBQ after the event. Spot prize draw will follow.

 

Two Race options

  1. Long Road bike duathlon: Run 4 km > road bike 20 km > run 4 km
  2. Short Road bike duathlon: Run 2 km > road bike 10 km > run 2 km 

 

Payment Options Select one:

Pay online Adult or Team ($20) -select this option to pay online either single adult entry or team entry.

Pay online 20% Club Discount ($16) -select this option to pay online and receive the club discount, must be a Nelson Tri Club member.

Pay online 50% School Student Discount ($10) -select this option to pay online and receive School Student (U18) discount.

Pay at event (bring cash on the day of race) -select this option to pay cash on the day of the race. No discounts for this option.

 

Important: To encourage pre-race online entries, race day entries ($30) will attract a 50% extra penalty and no club discounts apply. If you’re uncertain about whether to compete and wish to avoid the late entry penalty, please enter online, selecting ‘Pay at Event’ under the Payment option. Should you not compete, no charge will be made.

 

Note: Nelson Triathlon & Multisport Club has a NO REFUND policy on club events.

Race rules/code of conduct Rules include approved helmets must be worn (ANSI, SNELL or NZSS); bare torsos not allowed in the cycle or run legs; race number provided must be worn or shown; participants responsible for ensuring their cycles are in a safe rideable condition. The course is not closed to traffic. It is the participants’ responsibility to keep left and ride single file unless passing. Entrants under 18 take part at parent’s discretion. It is the participants’ responsibility to make themselves aware of the race rules; the racecourses; to attend the compulsory race briefing and to participate in a safe and responsible manner. I/We accept that triathlon, duathlon and multisport including swimming, kayaking, cycling, running and walking are inherently dangerous and that accidents can occur that may result in serious injury and/or death and/or property damage. I/We agree to compete at my/our own risk and waive liability against the race organisers or any associated parties for any personal injury, loss of personal equipment, or damage to third party property that may result as a consequence of my/our involvement in this event.
