Surf Safari 2025 - Ski Events

Thank you for entering the 2025 Surf Safari and celebrating 57 years of continuous racing.

Please read the Event Information guide before entering as it contains important information regarding entry criteria and course options.

EVERY PARTICIPANT in the 2025 Surf Safari will go in a random draw to win a FENN LS spec ski sponsored by Surf Ski Tasmania. ONLY entries received up until the close of Early Entries 1st November will be included.

The ski events are proudly sponsored by Vaikobi, Stubbs Design & Constuction and Surf Ski Tasmania (Scott Knighton your local Allwave and Fenn surf ski distributor).

LONG COURSE DOWNWIND – 18KM 

The 18km long course for ski paddlers and surf boats will be run as a downwind event utilising a start time in a 2-hour window. The start location to be confirmed at least 24hrs prior to race day, will be dependent on weather conditions, with a finish at Long Beach, Sandy Bay. In adverse conditions an out and back course will ensure the event is held starting and finishing at Long Beach.

SHORT COURSE – 8KM

For the skis and surf boats an out and back short course will be conducted starting and finishing at Lower Sandy Bay. The halfway turning mark will be located north of Cartwright Point, Taroona.
