...SCHEDULE AND REGISTRATION

Pre-race Meeting: 15 minutes after the arrival of the second ferry sailing (about 9:30 am). Meet near the shelter. 
Race Start: One hour after the arrival of the second ferry sailing (about 10:15 am),  
Race cost and registration: Race is free if pre-register online by 9 pm on THURSDAY, July 31st.  Day of race, August 2nd, cost will be $10 per person.  One entry per *boat* please!  Check-in near the shelter to pick up your boat number and to let us know which direction you will race.  Please check as soon as you arrive. Deepzoom.com illustrates currents and can help you decide the direction. 

....FERRY RESERVATIONS...

It is strongly recommended to reserve a slot to get to Shaw from Anacortes. Return is first come/first served. https://secureapps.wsdot.wa.gov/Ferries/Reservations/

...RACE REQUIREMENTS...

Must be able to self rescue. Wear or have life vest attached to boat. Youth under 18 must wear vest. Must have whistle. Bring cell phone in waterproof case. Herb Weisse will be emergency number at 425-263-0520 Must assist anyone who flips. Stay with paddler/rower until they are in their boat. Distance is 14 miles. This is a level 3 race.

...CAMPING REQUIREMENTS...NO CAMPING ON FRIDAY NIGHT!!If you don't want to rush back home after the race, we have reserved the group camp sites (10 & 11) for Saturday night. Please help offset the $210 cost for the campsite by contributing $20 per person.  CAMPING IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON SATURDAY. You'll need to pay for parking.  Please park in the field. You won't be able to sleep in your car.   

Marine site is available for those arriving by boat.  If you can find someone to take your boat to Shaw, there is also a site available for walk ins or ride ins by bicycle.
