Pre-clinic requirement:
USBA Rifle Safety Course is a two part safety course, it is REQURIED to compete the online portion of this class prior to the Clinic. Find Part 1 at https://center.usbiathlon.org (Education, U.S. Biathlon Courses, Basic Rifle Safety Course). Part 2 will happen in person at the clinic.
USBA Membership is required. You can purchase a 1-Day Membership at https://www.usbiathlon.org/membership
Clinic Day Format and Schedule
8:30 to 9:00 am: On site check-in at the Range (pre-registering by WebScorer is required)
9:00 to 10:00 am: WBA Procedures and biathlon ettiquett
10:00 to 3:00 pm: Rifle familiarization and biathlon procedure
Lunch at your decretion
3:00 to 3:30 pm: Short ‘fun’ race
3:30 to 4:00 pm: Range equipment breakdown
The Cascade Shooting Facilities (CSF) are located at 26520 292nd Ave SE in Ravensdale, WA., just a few miles east of Maple Valley. From Maple Valley take the Kent-Kangley Rd. to 292nd SE and turn left. Follow 292nd to the Facilities entrance turning right then take the road to the ranges staying to the right. Go past the Seattle Trap and Skeet range. Check in at the CSF gate then drive to range B. Head in parking is required.
Eligibility: This event is designed for those new to Biathlon and those interested in a basic refresher. It is not intended for experienced Biathletes.
Ammo: Biathlon rifles use low or standard velocity .22 caliber ammunition with 40 grain lead bullets. The WBA supplies ammunition for this event.
Instructorsare experienced biathletes from the WBA, including athletes who have competed nationally & internationally.
Rifles: Rifles will be available for those without their own. These are Izhmash biathlon rifles. We do have left handed rifles.
Lodging: The nearest lodging options are in Kent, Renton and Issaquah, generally 10 miles plus from the venue.
