Welcome Dragon Boat Racers!
To make the Mox Lamma 500 event more accessible for local and international teams and avoid scheduling conflicts, we've moved this year's festival to Sunday, 22 June 2025. We look forward to welcoming more teams and we can't wait to welcome you for another thrilling day of competition, camaraderie, and community spirit on the beautiful shores of Lamma Island!
NEW Competitions & Categories include:
- Men’s, Women’s, U18 and Premier Mixed 500m races;
- or Men’s, Women’s, U18 and Premier Mixed 300m races; (New event distance!)
- Men’s, Women’s and Premier Mixed 1,000m races (this race is a free optional addition to the 500m race);
- U18 Youth Mixed Crews (aged 12-17) 500m or300m races (note: U18 crews do not race in the 1,000m event); and
- The “Mox 500m or 300m Mixed Corporate Cup” - Returning for the second year!
Details for the Corporate Cups: The “500m Mixed Corporate Cup”, and "300m Mixed Corporate Cup" is open to corporate, business, or association teams at no extra cost beyond the regular Mixed entry fee. Throughout the day, all teams will compete in standard Mox Lamma 500 heats. The top-performing Mixed Crews will advance to their respective 500m or 300m final races at the end of the day. The top-scoring Corporate Teams may then choose to compete in the Mixed Corporate Cup final.
This Cup Final is optional and can complement the team's participation in regular finals. For instance, if a team such wins a spot in the Mixed Premier Cup Finals (top 5 scoring boats), it may chose to race in either the Mixed Premier Cup Final, or the Corporate Cup FInal, or both. There is no additional charge for Corporate Cup competitors. Teams who wish to enter this category should answer "Yes" when prompted in the registration form.
Note: a minimum of 5 teams is required per race distance and category
Fees:
- Early Bird Fees for all Adult Teams: $4800
- Early Bird Fees for U18 (Youth Mixed) Teams: $2600
- Regular Fees for Adult Teams: $5200
- Regular Fees for U18 (Youth Mixed) Teams: $3000
Final Registration closes at 6pm, June 12, 2025. Crew entries are limited, so apply soon to avoid disappointment.
Important Note:
Each Team Crew requires an individual entry and payment on webscorer.
Other Information:
- Dragon Boats are 20-person boats plus an active drummer and a steersperson.
- Mixed teams require an equal number of men and women in the crews (eg: 10 men and 10 women paddlers)
- Helmsmen are available for $800 for the full day; marquees are available for $600 for the day (there is a discount if you order more than one, so register for more marquees for savings).
- Paddles are provided, however; paddlers are welcome to use their own IDBF-compliant paddles.
- The Lamma International Dragon Boat Festival is a Green Event. We offer recycling stations, paperless programmes, and a water refilling station (at no charge). Please avoid single-use plastic! - For those of you who are new to the Lamma 500, the 1,000m race is optional (and there is no extra charge for the 1000m race), but it is one of the most popular features of our event.
