The runner takes responsibility for potential injury accepts that neither NVBYU or Greater Shepparton City Council are responsible for injury incurred during the normal operation of the event.

2.       If at any time a runner notes a risk on the course, they are requested to make the race director aware of that risk at the completion of their current loop.

3.       NVBYU or any of their elected officials reserves the right to remove a runner from the race if it has been deemed outside the runner’s best interest to proceed. (This is reserved for a medical withdrawal. And must be agreed between the RD, a medical provider,  and a crew member if available)

4.       In the event of a medical emergency, the event team will call for Ambulance Victoria assistance if deemed necessary. This may result in hefty ambulance fees if you are not covered by some sort of ambulance cover. North-Vic Backyard Ultras does not accept any responsibility for these costs, and they remain payable by the participant.

5.       The runner acknowledges that they are aware of the following rules and are willing to abide by these rules at risk of disqualification.

c.        Runners are permitted to leave the course to use the toilet while completing their loop.

d.       All runners must be wearing a head/chest lamp for the entirety of night loops. Any runner that has not got a head/chest lamp when in the start corale and the bell goes will not be allowed to continue. Receiving a light after the bell constitutes receive aid and will lead to disqualification. (Torch loops will be noted by RD well before loops start)

If the child is accompanied by a competing adult (partner), they will be allowed to continue to run until they are no longer capable of continuing or their partner resigns, at which time they must also resign.

c.        All children must have a parent/guardian at the venue at all times, and will be required to have the ability to contact that person at any time.
