Grace Ridge Race (or Hike) KBay Mountain Classic

FOR RUNNERS: This is an extreme rugged trail race for "experienced mountain runners only and you must be 18 yrs or older" to participate. Print & read the waiver to be sure you are qualified to participate & to get the list of REQUIRED gear. Running cut off time is 4.5 hours. (Normal hiking time is 8+ hours) Approx 9.5 miles with 3200' elevation.

Start at South Grace Trailhead in Tutka Bay, run to the summit, continue down the mountain to the ocean at Kayak Beach (north trailhead).

FOR HIKERS: Hikers are required to have hiked Grace Ridge at least one time before. HIkers will start at 8:30am sharp , and need to be at the start (SouthGrace Trailhead in Tutka Bay) by 8am. Hiking time is 7.5 hours. Hikers will not be timed. If Hikers decide to "run" they still will not be timed. 

NOTE: RACE FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE BOAT TRANSPORT. This race is only accessible by boat. Racers arrange their own drop-off  by friends or by water taxi from Homer, Alaska to South Grace Ridge Trailhead in Tutka Bay. DEPART HOMER DOCK BY 8:30 OR 9am latest. PLEASE BE AT THE START BY  9:30am and PICKUP by water taxi at Kayak Beach around 5pm. It takes 40-55 minutes for the boat ride to the start way back in beautful Tutka Bay, depending on weather and boat speed. Race start at 10:30 am sharp, please arrive in plenty of time before the Start. Water taxi is not included in registration fee.
