The 2024 Watermans To The Wall is an iconic community swim event hosted by Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club, with all profits from the event used to purchase lifesaving equipment to keep beachgoers safe.
Starting at Watermans Bay beach the 2.5km course covers a stunning part of the WA coastline. The +400 swimmers compete as individuals or in two person teams.
Cash prizes and medals on offer, with novelty and teams prizes also awarded. The event comprises of 3 categories: - the WTTW long course (Approx. 2.4k), - the long course teams (2 legs approx. 1.2k each), and - the short course (solo only approx. 1.2k).
What you need to know:
· Entry fee is $40.00 per competitor (e.g., team of 2 pays $80.00),
· Limited to 500 entries
· No refunds
· First 300 entries (registered before 31 March 2024) receive a commemorative WTTW gift
· Team relay change over point is halfway between MAAC & Sorrento south groyne
· $500 prize for swimmer/team finishing closest to their estimated time (long course only).
· Wetsuits eligible (no watch) for closest to estimated time award.
· Wetsuits not eligible for fastest times category.
· Swimmers must be min age of 12 on the day of the event
· Time limit for swim will be 1hr 30 mins
· Medals will be awarded for fastest male & female open swimmers, and fastest male & female junior (under 16) in both long course and short course swimmers.
· Medals also awarded to the members of the fastest team.
· THE winning club will be awarded the "Champion Club Pennant".
· Must have min 10 solo long course swimmers entered from your club to qualify for the "Champion Club Pennant".
· Long course only – solos and teams (teams count as 1 entry).
· Registrations close on midnight 23 April 2024.
· Late registration fee of $50.00 will be accepted on the day, however they will NOT be eligible for medals or the estimated time prize.
· In case of dispute, event committee adjudicates, with their decision final.
