Location: Bonnie Vale Picnic Area, 2 Sea Breeze Lane, Bonnie Vale. This event (including the location) is subject to the weather conditions on the day.
The focus of the day is learning to paddle your ski safely. We'll cover how to remount; how to perform self and assisted rescues, etc. The session will be a combination of instruction, practice and games. For our more experienced club members, the paddle is an opportunity to practice these skills and help others learn. Bonnie Vale offers different water conditions to what we normally encounter on the Wonnie, from the semi-protected area at the beach to the waves off the beach.
Adult members of SSCC and juniors between 14 and 18 are invited to attend. Due to insurance limitations, juniors under 14 are not able to participate.
Mark Sundin and Rob Mercer have volunteered his time to lead this paddle.
You'll have fun and you will get wet!

I've attend this paddle before, should I attend again?
Firstly it's a fun day that gives you an opportunity to get know members that you may not usually paddle with.
No matter how experienced you are, it's always good to practice remounting, self and assisted rescues, etc, you never know when you'll need these skills. You can also help others learn to remount etc.
It's also an opportunity to practice assisting paddlers who are in distress.
What if you don't own a ski, PFD or paddle?
The club skis will be allocated on a first in first served basis (i.e. based on the order members register in GoMembership)
The club will transport the club boats and equipment to Bonnie Vale.
Health Guidelines: the usual stuff applies, please don't come if you are unwell.
